Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Language Horizon ("we", "our", the "Service") collects, uses, and safeguards information in connection with the website language-horizon.ru and the internal automation tooling that publishes educational videos to our own YouTube channels.

1. Who operates the Service

Language Horizon is an independent educational project operated by its sole owner. Contact: english.horizon.business@gmail.com.

2. Scope of the Service

Language Horizon is an internal automation backend used by the channel owner to produce and publish educational English-language videos and Shorts to YouTube channels owned by the operator. The Service has no public user registration, no end-user accounts, and no third-party login flow.

3. Information we collect

Because the Service does not accept public sign-ups, it does not collect personal data from end users. We do, however, process the following data on behalf of the channel owner:

• Channel metadata and OAuth tokens — the operator authorizes the application via Google OAuth 2.0 so that the Service can call the YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube Analytics API v2 on the operator's own channels. Refresh tokens are stored encrypted (Fernet / AES-128 in CBC + HMAC-SHA256) in an access-controlled database on the operator's own server and never shared with third parties.
• YouTube analytics data — aggregated, channel-owner-level metrics (views, watch time, average view duration, audience retention, traffic sources) retrieved via the YouTube Analytics API. This data is used solely to refine future content and is never shared externally.
• Operational logs — server logs containing request timestamps and IP addresses, retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

4. How we use information

• To upload videos, update metadata, manage playlists and post one pinned engagement comment per uploaded video via the YouTube Data API.
• To retrieve aggregated analytics for the operator's own videos via the YouTube Analytics API and display them on an internal dashboard.
• To diagnose errors and improve reliability of the automation pipeline.

5. YouTube API Services

The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service, the operator is also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

The operator may revoke the Service's access to their Google account at any time via the Google security settings page.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Access to YouTube API data is limited to internal processing on servers operated by the Service owner. No analytics data is exported to advertising networks, brokers or third-party analytics platforms.

7. Data storage & security

Data is stored on servers operated by the Service owner. OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted at rest (Fernet / AES-128 CBC + HMAC-SHA256 authenticated encryption) using a key derived from an operator-controlled secret. The database port is not exposed to the public internet. HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) is enforced for all external traffic. Access to production systems is restricted to the Service owner using multi-factor authentication.

8. Data retention

• OAuth refresh tokens: kept while the integration is active; deleted within 7 days of revocation.
• YouTube analytics data: kept for up to 24 months to allow historical trend analysis, then deleted or aggregated.
• Server logs: up to 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
